    Description

    Very old and worn leather early doctor's bag from the late 19th Century, back when doctors made house calls.  This bag has locks but no key and has original hardware.  It has a sturdy metal frame and metal rivets on the bottom, as shown in the photos.  Everything works and the interior leather is in pretty good shape (considering the age of this bag) but it's difficult to photograph without a second pair of hands at the moment.  The bottom is stamped with the number "16" and below that (I believe it says) "0154".  Stamped below the number is  "GENUINE COWHIDE" and the last line says "MADE IN U.S.A."   The leather is worn, as shown, but this bag makes a nice display and has seen a lot of history in its day.  This measures approx. 18" at it's widest part, 16" on bottom  x 10" wide  x 11" tall, not including the handle. The dust is free of charge - I didn't want to disturb the leather!
