CHICAGO BLUES PHOTO: HOWLIN’ WOLF singing at Big Duke’s Blue Flame, c. 1972
This glossy black & white photo by Living Blues co-editor Amy van Singel was taken c. 1972 at Big Duke’s Blue Flame on Madison Street on Chicago’s West Side. Howlin’ Wolf, often thought of as fierce and intense, looks happy and relaxed singing from his chair, sitting with his legs crossed.
Photo digitally processed from original 35mm negative.
