Hampshire Pottery Matte Green Chamberstick-Arts and Crafts-Hooded Candle Holder

Description

A super piece produced by the Hampshire Pottery company of Keene, New Hampshire.  Produced during the arts and crafts period in the two decades of the 20th century, this item would be called a chamber stick or hooded candle holder.  Produced in the classic matte green color which tends to have a blended, somewhat mottled appearance depending on the thickness and the make up of the glaze when applied to the piece.  The chamberstick stands 7 3/4” tall and measures 4 1/4” across the base. Well marked with the standard company signature. Also the picture of the bottom shows the thickness of the glaze and how it was factory ground to allow this candleholder to sit level on a surface.  I can find no chips, cracks, damage or repairs to this item. I will mention pictures show assorted areas where darker spots are present; the item has been cleaned so I presume these are part of the glaze.  A super mission style pottery example for display or use in your collection.
